Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club better known as ‘Currumbin Surf Club’ or ‘The Vikings’ is located right on Elephant Rock in Currumbin on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The Club was established in 1919 and has a proud tradition over 97 years of providing essential beach safety and lifesaving services to members of the public. Currumbin offers lifesaving, youth development and surf sport activities from our nipper members aged 5 years and above to our masters members.
In season 2015/2016 we had a strong membership base of over 1000 Surf Club Members and over 11,000 Supporters Club Members. Our Surf Club members provided 8,500 volunteer hours to an estimated 40,000 beach patrons at Currumbin Beach during the official Surf Lifesaving season. Currumbin was named the 2016 SLSQ Point Danger Branch Patrol Club of the Year.
In 2015/2016 the Club were crowned the National Pool Rescue Champions, National Ocean Thunder Surf Boat Champions and finished in 2nd place overall at the 2016 Australian Surf Lifesaving Titles, in the process taking out the u/19 Champion Club and winning the Handicap Point score recognising the most improved Surf Sports Club in the country.
